Dr. Rachel Wen-Juei Jeng obtained her M.D. degree from National Yang-Ming University in Taiwan (1998-2005) and completed her Ph.D. at the same institution in 2022. After completing her internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (CGMH), Linkou branch, Taiwan, she became an attending physician in Hepatology in 2010. Dr. Jeng has served as a Physician Scientist since 2019 and was promoted to Professor in 2022. Since 2019, she has also held the role of Deputy Director of the Clinical Trial Center at CGMH.
Her research focuses on viral hepatitis, with a particular emphasis on HBV management, finite HBV treatment, new drug clinical trials, and clinical/translational hepatology. She is recognized for her series of publications on finite Nucleos(t)ide analog therapy, which explore treatment outcomes, predictive factors, and management strategies. An active member of TASL, EASL, and AASLD, Dr. Jeng has contributed as a peer reviewer for numerous top international journals. She serves on the editorial board of Hepatology Communications and, as of October 2024, is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Hepatology.
