Pierre Maudet is State Councillor of the Republic and Canton of Geneva, in charge of the Department of Health and Mobility (DSM). From 2021 to 2023, he served as Chief Digital Transformation Officer at WISeKey, a company active in cybersecurity, among other fields. From 2012 to 2021, he was State Councillor responsible for security and economic development, and served as President of the State Council in 2018. He also served on the Administrative Council of the City of Geneva from 2007 to 2012, in charge of the Department of Urban Environment and Security, and was Mayor of the City of Geneva from 2011 to 2012. He holds a Master's degree in Law from the University of Fribourg.
