Dr. Yuchen Xia is a Professor at Taikang Medical School, Wuhan University, and Director of the Institute of Medical Virology. His research focuses on hepatitis B virus (HBV), with particular emphasis on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying HBV covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA) regulation, dissecting host-virus interactions, and developing innovative animal models to overcome key species barriers to HBV infection. His research findings have been published in leading scientific and medical journals, including Science, PNAS, Journal of Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Gut, Hepatology, Nature Metabolism, and PLOS Pathogens.
