Maka Gogia is a public health expert with profound experience in HIV, Hepatitis C, B and TB prevention and care programs, focusing on vulnerable populations in the EECA region. As the HIV Programs Director at the Georgian Harm Reduction Network, she leads diseases prevention, advocacy, program management, and technical consultations. Maka holds a medical degree, a Master’s in Public Health, and is a PhD candidate at Tbilisi State University and SUNY Albany, USA, specializing in Public Health and Epidemiology. She collaborates with WHO, UNAIDS, UNFPA, EATG and other international organizations, contributing to policy development, research, and capacity building. Maka is also a member of key international committees, including Regional Collaborating Committee on Accelerated Response to Tuberculosis, HIV and Viral Hepatitis (RCC-THV) at World Health Organization, the Global Fund EECA constituency group, the European HIV Testing Week Steering Committee and WHO’s RCC-THV, Medicines Patent Pool.
