Dr Christiane Stern is the Chair of the Department of Hepatology & Gastroenterology at Centre Hospitalier de Versailles, France. She completed her medical degree in the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and then trained as a clinician and scientist in different university hospitals in France. Dr Stern is particularly involved with the management of patients with viral hepatitis (HBV, HCV and HDV) and MASLD, from mild disease until decompensated cirrhosis and liver transplantation. She has also a large experience with different non-invasive liver tests, including FibroScan and Aixplorer. Her research activities are mainly focused on viral hepatitis, MASLD and non-invasive liver tests. She is a member of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), Association Française des Etudes du Foie (AFEF) and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD).
