Jennifer Price, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at UCSF and Director of the UCSF Viral Hepatitis Center with expertise in the intersections of HIV, viral hepatitis, and hepatic steatosis. Her research examines the contributions of novel and traditional factors associated with liver disease and fibrosis progression in large observational HIV cohorts, with or without viral hepatitis. Dr. Price also conducts research and creative activities aimed at improving access to high quality health care among people living with HCV. This work includes launching UCSF's first mobile liver care unit, the DeLIVER Care Van to offer free HCV screening and low-threshold HCV treatment in San Francisco, leading the UCSF HCV Project ECHO, and conducting clinical studies aimed to improve the HCV care cascade among people who use drugs and/or are experiencing homelessness. She is a member of the UCSF Liver Center, Councilor of the AGA Liver and Biliary Section, Co-Chair of the AASLD/IDSA HCV Guidance Panel, Vice Chair of the AASLD Practice Guidelines Committee and ILTS Infectious Diseases and Liver Transplantation SIG Steering Committee Member.
