Dr. Mazzulli is a Medical Microbiologist at the University Health Network/Sinai Health Department of Microbiology, Toronto as well as Professor, Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, University of Toronto. His major research interests include infections in the immunocompromised host as well as rapid diagnostics for the detection of viral pathogens. He has served as the Program Director for the Medical Microbiology and Clinical (Post-doctoral) Microbiology Training Programs at the University of Toronto for over 20 years. He is also currently serving as the Laboratory Medicine Program Medical Director for multiple hospitals in Northern Ontario and oversees the microbiology operations of multiple community hospital laboratories and private/community laboratories across Ontario.
