Speaker Bio
I am a Community Health Worker with lived experience of Hep C, drug use, incarceration, homelessness, and more, that gave me valuable knowledge when supporting people in my field. I’ve been working with South Riverdale Community Health Center for 8 years and in my current position working full time for over 4 years.

I went from a client to a worker for South Riverdale Community Health Center, and since being connected with SRCHC I’ve gotten housed, cured from Hep C, I started working part time, worked my way up to full time, and off of ODSP. I am very proud of my accomplishments.

I Love to support folks just like me without judgement or stigma. Connecting folks with what they need at the time is important to me, including providing Hep C Testing, offering Harm Reduction Supplies, and listening in a caring way. I love to support all folks that ask or need it, without discrimination.

I work with a very unique team, the Toronto Community Hep C Program. My team includes a Nurse, Health Promoter, Doctor, Community Health Worker, and Community Support Workers. I really think the emphasis on lived experience facilitators makes our team so effective and great.

My lived experience has been formative in my work. My dedication in sharing my personal journey and my compassionate approach to delivering care embody SRCHC’s mission, vision and values. I meet individuals where they are and help them achieve better health outcomes without judgment. I really do feel like I’m part of a caring community.
