Dr. Ahmed Bayoumi is a General Internist, an HIV clinician, a scientist at the MAP Centre for Urban
Health Solutions, and Professor at the University of Toronto with appointments in the Department of
Medicine, the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, and the Institute of Medical
Science. He is an expert in health services research, with a focus on issues related to the health of
people experiencing marginalization and a specific focus on and people who use drugs and people
living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection. He is also a senior adjunct scientist at
ICES. He has held several leadership positions and won awards in recognition of his teaching and
research accomplishments, including the Dr. David Sackett Senior Investigator Award from the
Canadian Society of Internal Medicine the Society for Medical Decision Making Award for Practical Application of Medical Decision Making Research. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences
