Cindy Wen (she/her) is a second-year MD/PhD Candidate at Queen’s University completing her PhD in Public Health Sciences with a Specialization in Epidemiology. Prior to this, Cindy received her Bachelor’s of Medical Science (BMSc) with an Honours Specialization in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Western University in 2024. Her current research leverages two rich and complementary Canadian data sources through an equity-oriented approach to elucidate liver disease progression patterns and long-term prognosis to support the development of a more holistic framework for the early identification and prevention of advanced liver outcomes. To answer these questions, Cindy leverages her diverse methodologic skill set to apply epidemiologic, qualitative, and machine learning principles. Beyond this, Cindy’s academic and personal endeavours are largely driven by her innate passion for advocacy and commitment to enhancing health equity, qualities she aims to continuously embed on her journey to becoming a clinician-scientist.
