Dr. Jill Tinmouth is a gastroenterologist and a clinical epidemiologist. She is a Professor at the University of Toronto, a Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute Inc., and a Senior Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. Her research focuses on screening for colorectal cancer as well as colonoscopy quality improvement and health service utilization.

Since 2023, she has held the role of the Provincial Medical Director, Cancer Control at Ontario Health, where she provides clinical and scientific oversight to Ontario’s organized breast, cervix, colorectal and lung cancer screening programs. From 2011 to 2025, she was the Lead Scientist for Ontario’s colorectal cancer screening program, ColonCancerCheck. She is the founder and leads the Canadian Screening for Colorectal Cancer Research Network (CanSCCRN).
