Jordi Serra, MD, PhD. is specialist in Gastroenterology since 1993. His research carrier has focused on Motility and Functional Gut Disorders, including esophageal motor disorders, constipation and disorders of gut-brain interaction, with special focus on the physiology of intestinal gas, and the pathophysiology and management of functional bloating and abdominal distension. Dr. Serra is the Head of the Motility Unit at the University Hospital Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona. He is the actual president of the Spanish Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ASENEM), and member of the SC of the European Society of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (ESNM).
