Heiko Pohl is Professor of Medicine at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. He works as a gastroenterologist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Lebanon, NH, and at the VA Medical Center in White River Junction, VT, where he also serves as the Director of Endoscopy. His research interest focuses on improving quality of endoscopy. He has led several multicenter studies related to polyp detection and resection. He is also engaged in initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of GI practice. He serves as the Chair of the Gastroenterology Multi-Society Taskforce on Climate Change and the Chair of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Taskforce on Sustainable Endoscopy.
