Dr. Hin Hin Ko is a Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of British Columbia. She is a Fellow of both the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (FAASLD) and American Gastroenterology Association (AGAF). She is a hepatologist and gastroenterologist at St. Paul’s Hospital. Dr. Ko received medical degree from the University of Toronto, completed Gastroenterology fellowship at UBC and Advanced Hepatology fellowship at U of T. Her special interests included viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver disease, metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease and eosinophilic esophagitis. In addition to her clinical practice, she is deeply committed to research. She serves as a committee member of the Canadian HBV Network and a steering committee member of the Canadian Network for Autoimmune Liver Disease. As principal investigator for several clinical trials and investigator-initiated studies, she has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications and national guidelines. Dr. Ko is a dedicated educator. She is a past member of the AASLD Education Committee and has served on the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Gastroenterology Examination Board for over a decade. Further, she is a strong patient advocate and is the co-chair of the Canadian Hepatitis B Peer Support Group.
