Dr. Curtis Cooper is a Professor of Medicine with U Ottawa, Senior Scientist with The Ottawa Health Research Institute, and Head of The Ottawa Hospital Division of Infectious Diseases. He pursues a research agenda evaluating the clinical, biochemical, virologic, immunologic, psychological and pharmacokinetic interactions between viral hepatitis, HIV and the medications used to treat these infections. Dr. Cooper has led/contributed to multiple national and international HBV, HCV and HIV-viral hepatitis clinical guidelines. He serves in various capacities with CIHR Canadian HIV Trials Network, CanHepC, OHTN Cohort Study and Canadian HBV Research Network. In 2024 he received a University of Ottawa Department of Medicine Recognition Award as Translational Researcher of the year.
