Amine Benmassaoud completed his medical degree and training in Gastroenterology at McGill University followed by an advanced fellowship in Hepatology at the Sheila Sherlock Liver Centre, London (UK) on portal hypertension. He then completed a Master’s in Experimental Medicine at McGill on prehabilitation in patients with liver disease. He is currently an assistant professor of medicine and member of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the McGill University Health Centre with a clinician-investigator profile (50% dedicated research time). As an early career researcher, his research program and clinical interests, supported by FRQS-Junior 1 Clinical Research scholar award, is on the evaluation and management of portal hypertension through novel non-invasive and invasive techniques. He recently completed additional training in Endoscopic Ultrasound. He is the co-director of the new McGill Endohepatology Fellowship Training Program.
