Davide Ghinolfi attended the School of Medicine and Residency in General Surgery at the University of Genoa (Italy), where he received his PhD in Management of Organ Transplantation. He spent one year at the University of Massachusetts in 2005 as a research fellow and two years at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY, USA, as a hepatobiliary and multiorgan transplant fellow from 2007 to 2009. Since 2009, he has worked as attending surgeon at the Division of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation at the Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria Pisana in Pisa (Italy). where he is now the Director of the Division. His research interests focus on the use of marginal grafts in liver transplantations (in particular, older donors and DCD liver grafts), ex situ perfusion, and organ therapeutics. He is an expert in quality assessment and improvement programs in healthcare.
