Speaker Bio
Agimol is a senior liver transplant coordinator and dedicated philanthropist with a longstanding commitment to improving access to organ, blood, and stem cell donation within diverse communities and completed her PhD on the same topic. She has served at King’s College Hospital for over a decade, playing a key role in a team that recently achieved the highest number of liver transplants in a 12 month period an accomplishment she regards with humility and pride.
Alongside her clinical work, Agimol is a Project Advisor for NHS Blood and Transplant Community Programmes and a trustee of the charity UPAHAAR, which focuses on raising awareness and support for organ/stem cell donation among South Asian communities. Her work consistently bridges clinical excellence with community engagement, helping to address disparities in donor registration and transplantation outcomes.
Agimol has received recognition at local, national, and international levels. In 2018, she was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) and was listed in the British Community Honours Awards. These honours have amplified her voice as an advocate, strengthening outreach efforts and inspiring greater participation in organ/blood/stem cell donation particularly within ethnic minority communities. She is widely regarded as a role model for Asian nurses in the UK, using her platform to champion equity, awareness, and lifesaving change. More recently, she received the Health Service Journal Award (2024) for “Workforce Initiative of the Year” in recognition of her contributions to supporting globally educated nurses and her involvement in nursing registration policy review with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council.
