Tommaso Di Maira, MD, PhD, is a hepatologist and transplant specialist at Hospital Universitario La Fe, Valencia, Spain. His academic work focuses on liver transplantation, with particular interest in long-term outcomes, cardiovascular risk, immunosuppression, and cardiometabolic complications after transplant. He obtained his PhD from the Universitat de València, completed training in clinical research at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and undertook research and training stays at Columbia University in New York and Toronto General Hospital in Canada. He has led competitive projects and contributed to international multicenter collaborations. He is active in ILTS scientific initiatives, including Vanguard and the ILTS-iLDLT Consensus Scientific Committee, and serves on the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Society of Liver Transplantation.
