Dr. Xie completed a fellowship in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery in West China Hospital, Sichuan University. He also completed a doctorate at the UT M.D Anderson Cancer Center. His research interests include molecular histological subtypes and precision therapy of hepatocellular carcinoma, as well as the prevention and treatment of peri-operative complications of liver transplantation.
