Professor Li has more than 20 years of clinical surgical experience at top hospitals in Germany and the United Kingdom, and has successively worked at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, University Hospital Tübingen, and other institutions. As the principal investigator, he led the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf to obtain the highest-level certification of "Center of Excellence in Hepatobiliary Surgery" from the German Society of Surgery in 2019.
Professor Li specializes in liver transplantation, multiple organ transplantation, and precision treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic tumors. He is highly skilled in split liver transplantation, pediatric and living donor liver transplantation, and proficient in laparoscopic and robotic minimally invasive surgery. He pioneered innovative procedures such as the "Milk-White Test" and "One Liver for Three Uses", and developed the FABIB scoring system for the evaluation of postoperative complications.
In scientific research, Professor Li focuses on mechanisms related to liver transplantation and cancer therapy. He has established a variety of animal models and participated in a number of international multi-center studies. He also serves as a member of several international academic associations and a standing committee member of relevant domestic professional committees, combining profound academic attainments with extensive clinical experience.
