Prof. Roberta Angelico is Associate Professor and consultant surgeon at the HPB and Transplant Unit of the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy directed by Prof. Tisone. Her liver transplant training was in the Liver Unit of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham UK and then in the Liver and Kidney pediatric transplant center of the Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome. Her research interest are in immunosuppression, operational tolerance, pediatric transplantation and organ preservation.
She is the chair of the ILTS SIG Immunology (2023-ongoing) and ESOT Councilor (2025-ongoing). In addition, Prof. Angelico serves as an Associate Editor of the American Journal of Transplantation. She is a Fellow of the European Board of Surgery (Transplant Section) of the UEMS and contributes to the UEMS Vanguard Committee, supporting advancements in surgical training and standards across Europe.
