Emmanuel Weiss is forty-four years old, professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine in Paris, France.
He is chair of the anesthesiology and perioperative care medicine department of Beaujon Hospital.
He is interested in clinical research on patients with severe digestive diseases, especially endstage liver disease, and perioperative care during liver transplantation and major digestive surgery.
He heads a research team at the Center for Research on Inflammation (Inserm) in Paris to investigate how to restore a proper regulation of inflammation in patients with cirrhosis.
He chairs the anestheisa and critical care comitee of ILTS and is a member of the council of the Liver Intensive Care Group of Europe. He is also vice chair of the scientific committee of the French society of anesthesia and critical care (SFAR), and member of the council of the French special interest group on anesthesiology and critical care of the liver.
