Luc van der Laan is Full Professor of Liver Regenerative Medicine at the Erasmus MC Transplant Institute, Department of Surgery, University Medical Center Rotterdam, Netherlands. He is dedicated to pioneering research in regenerative medicine, organoids and organ transplantation. With over 250 international peer-reviewed publications, he has garnered several national and international scientific awards including the ILTS Basic Science Award. He mentored numerous graduate and PhD students and his team made significant contributions to advancements of patient-specific liver organoids and extracellular matrix research. His ambition is to utilize organoids and biomaterials for regenerative medicine of liver diseases and advancement of liver transplantation.
