Dr. Sadhana Shankar, MBBS, MS (General Surgery), MRCS (Edin), FRCS (Edin), is a Consultant Liver Transplant and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgeon at Dr. Rela Institute and Medical Centre, India. She completed her surgical training at Madras Medical College, India, followed by advanced HPB and Liver Transplant training and FRCS from King’s College Hospital, UK. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and holds a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from L’Université de Strasbourg, France.
Her clinical expertise focuses on living donor liver transplantation, advanced vascular reconstruction techniques, complex hepatobiliary malignancies and neuroendocrine tumors. Dr. Shankar has contributed to several international consensus guidelines and multicentric studies, with publications in leading journals including the American Journal of Transplantation, Annals of Surgery, and Transplantation. She has over 5 book chapters to her credit.
She serves on the Vanguard Committee of the International Liver Transplantation Society and is actively involved in global academic collaborations, mentorship initiatives, and consensus development.
