Dr. Seisuke Sakamoto graduated from the Kyoto University School of Medicine in 1994. He underwent general surgery training at Kyoto University Hospital in Japan. He completed a postgraduate PhD thesis at the Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine (Prof. Koichi Tanaka). Additionally, from 2001 to 2004, he trained as a research and clinical fellow in the multi-organ transplant program at the University of Toronto, Canada, gaining expertise in deceased donor abdominal organ transplantation. Since 2009, he has been involved in the organ transplant program at the National Center for Child Health and Development in Tokyo, focusing on clinical practice, research activities, and medical education related to pediatric abdominal organ transplantation. Currently, he serves as the director of Organ Transplantation Center.
