Dr. Pruett is a Professor of Surgery and Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota. He has been in leadership roles for organ donation and transplantation for most of career; OPTN/UNOS President, ASTS President, and has worked closely with CDC/HRSA and FDA on biovigilance after deceased donation, WHO and Project NOTIFY.
Dr. Pruett is trained in General Surgery and Internal Medicine, with subspecialty training/boards in Transplantation, Medical Infectious Diseases and Surgical Critical Care. He has spoken broadly on medical and legal issues about organ transplantation. He has a specific interest in infections associated with organ transplantation.
