Kim M. Olthoff, MD, is the Donald Guthrie Professor of Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, Chief of the Division of Transplant Surgery. Dr. Olthoff trained at UCLA and has been at the University of Pennsylvania since 1995. She leads the Living Donor Liver program at Penn and is the Surgical Director for the Liver Transplant Program at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, performing the first living donor liver transplants at both institutions. She is a Past-President for the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and the iLDLT Group, and chaired numerous committees for national and international transplant societies. She is the Director of the Gift of Life Donor Care Center at Penn. Dr. Olthoff has a busy clinical practice in adult and pediatric liver transplantation, living donor surgery, and an active research program in clinical and translational studies that focus on living donation, liver regeneration, and xenotransplant. She has published over 200 manuscripts, editorials, and chapters.
