Beat Moeckli, MD, MD-PhD is a Swiss surgeon currently completing a dual-accredited fellowship in HPB Surgery and Abdominal Transplantation at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA. He started his surgical training at Johns Hopkins Hospital and continued at the University Hospital Zurich and Geneva University Hospitals, where he worked as Junior Attending in Visceral Surgery. His clinical work focuses on hepatobiliary surgery and abdominal transplantation, and his current training includes liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation, as well as complex HPB surgery. He obtained an MD-PhD from the University of Geneva, where his research focused on the role of obesity and the gut microbiome in liver disease and carcinogenesis. His current research interests include transplant oncology, immunotherapy, and clinical outcomes in transplantation. He is actively involved in collaborative research projects and is an Associate Editor of Transplant International.
