Dr. Alexander H. K. Kroemer is a transplant and hepatobiliary surgeon at the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute and Professor of Surgery at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He serves as Director of the Center for Translational Transplant Medicine at Georgetown University Medical Center and Chief of the Organ Preservation Program. His clinical practice focuses on adult and pediatric liver and intestinal transplantation, and his lab leads basic and translational research at the intersection of transplantation, organ preservation, and immunology. Dr. Kroemer is an NIH-funded investigator, an active member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, and an Associate Editor of the American Journal of Transplantation.
