Dr Cristina Dopazo completed her training in General Surgery at Hospital Vall d´Hebron in Barcelona (Spain) and completed her HPB fellowship specialist training at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. She obtained her PhD in 2007, received the European Board of Transplantation Surgery in 2011, and the European Board of HPB Surgery in 2018. She is currently Head of the HPB and Liver Transplant Unit at Hospital Vall d´Hebron (Barcelona) and an Associate Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Barcelona. She held visiting fellowships at the Children´s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Toronto General Hospital (Abdominal Transplant & HPB Surgical Oncology Department), and ASAN Medical Centre (Seoul). Her research interests are liver oncology and immunosuppression. She has participated in more than 50 indexed publications, collaborated on multicenter studies mainly in the field of colorectal liver metastases and cholangiocarcinoma (European Cholangiocarcinoma Network), and is a reviewer for distinguished journals such as AJT, Transplantation, EJSO, and HPB Journal.
