Murat Dayangac, MD, Professor of Surgery, is Director of the Center for Organ Transplantation at Istanbul Medipol University, Istanbul, Turkey, where he leads one of the high-volume liver transplant programs in the region.
He completed his medical degree and general surgery residency at Ege University and subsequently trained in transplantation surgery at Florence Nightingale Hospital. He further advanced his clinical experience as a visiting surgeon at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville.
Dr. Dayangac has been actively performing liver transplantation for nearly two decades and has contributed to more than 1,500 liver transplant procedures, with particular expertise in pediatric and adult living donor liver transplantation, complex hepatobiliary surgery, and transplant oncology.
His academic work focuses on living liver donation, perioperative optimization, surgical innovation, and translational research aimed at improving outcomes in liver transplantation. He has participated in multiple multicenter clinical trials and nationally funded research projects and has served on international committees within the transplant community.
Dr. Dayangac remains actively involved in surgical education, clinical and translational research, and advancing the science and practice of liver transplantation worldwide.
