Patrizia Burra is Full-Professor of Gastroenterology, Director of Gastroenterology Unit, Chief of Gastroenterology Endoscopy, at the Department of Surgery, Oncology and Gastroenterology at Padua University Hospital, Italy. For more than 20 years, she was the Head of the Multivisceral Transplant Unit. Since April 1st, 2024, she is the Head of the Functional Department of Solid Organ Transplantation. She became ILTS Councilor in 2009, Member of the Education Committee 2009-2012, Treasurer 2013-2016, Member of Financial Committee 2015-2016, President elect 2016-2017, President 2017-2018, Past President 2018-2019. She attended all annual ILTS meetings since 2001 and Consensus Conferences in 2016 HCV, Chicago, 2017 Immunosoppression, Park City, 2018 promoter and organizer of the Consensus Conference on NAFLD and NASH in Liver Transplantation in Venice, Italy, 2025 LDLT Toronto, Canada and in 2026 in Washington. Patrizia was VicePresident and then President of European Liver and Intestine Transplant (ELITA) until 2009. Regarding Padua University, ViceRector on Research Training 2015-2021, Rector’s Delegate for Specialisation Schools and the Centre for Post Graduate Specialised Training 2021-2027. In 2021 she received EASL recognition award and the Fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (FAASLD), Co-chair of the Lancet-EASL Commission on liver diseases in Europe, Deputy Editor of Journal of Hepatology 2019-2024. She is clinically and scientifically involved in the field of end stage liver disease and liver transplantation, mainly on ALD, HBV and MASH, and clinical management of patients with HCC, PSC and cholangiocarcinoma. She has authored over-500 articles in peer-reviewed journals (H-index 76 by Scopus).
