Benjamin Assouline, MD-PD, is an attending physician in the Cardiac Critical Care Unit at Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), Switzerland. His clinical expertise focuses on cardiac intensive care and mechanical circulatory support.

He completed a fellowship at King’s College Hospital in London, where he trained in the Liver Intensive Care Unit and gained experience in the management of acute liver failure and liver transplantation. He subsequently completed a fellowship at the Institut de Cardiologie, Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris, specializing in cardiac critical care, with a focus on advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and refractory ARDS.

His current clinical and research interests center on the physiological optimization of mechanical circulatory support in cardiogenic shock, as well as the management of refractory right ventricular dysfunction.
