Speaker Bio
Krishna Menon is an internationally recognised consultant in HPB and transplant surgery with over 22 years of experience across India and the United Kingdom. He began his consultant career at Leeds Teaching Hospitals in 2002 and has been based at King’s College Hospital, London since 2013. His specialist interests include transplant oncology, fatty liver disease and liver cancer, as well as advanced hepatobiliary surgical techniques. He introduced laparoscopic major hepatectomy using 3D techniques at King’s College Hospital and has contributed to European consensus meetings in liver and pancreatic surgery. He has chaired the UK National Working Group on Liver Transplantation for unresectable colorectal liver metastases, authored over 140 peer‑reviewed publications, delivered more than 300 international lectures, and produced work that has influenced clinical practice. He has held major leadership roles, including Past President of the Great Britain Chapter of the IHPBA and immediate Past President of the British Transplantation Society. In 2021, he was appointed to the UK national Organ Utilisation Group and subsequently to the Implementation Steering Group for Organ Utilisation.
